The Project Details

Construction of 38000t rock revetment on the east and west beaches of west bay. Receiving rock from barge discharge and placing in multiple work fronts using our own 40-70t trimble equipped excavators, dozers and volvo dump trucks.

This Contract Included:

  • Loaded 38000t of armour stone onto gantry equipped ship. Transport to west bay, Dorset from Scotland
  • Transfer the main armour cargo from ship to barge at the offshore anchorage to the beaches in shipments of 1200-1800t to suit tidal depths
  • Deliver the armour stone shipments into the east and west beach discharge locations using dedicated routes avoiding fishing interests and damage to the known inshore reef special areas of conservation
  • Continue order supply until transshipping of rock armour was completed to different beach locations at every suitable high water opportunity. Separating the 4 different project gradings to the agreed client schedule in order to allow the best asset and plant utilisation on two beach locations
